Participation at EGU General Assembly 2026 conference
3–8 May, members of FutureScapes took part in the EGU General Assembly 2026 conference in Vienna. As one of the world’s largest geoscience gatherings, this year’s event brought together more than 20,000 researchers.

In April 2026 we had our thirteenth coffee morning on the topic „One farm’s story: step by step towards more sustainable land use“.
Participation at the City and Municipality Day
Last week, the head of our Landscape Biodiversity working group, Aveliina Helm, gave a presentation at the City and Municipality Day, where participants explored ways to improve local government management, services, and people’s well-being.

At the end of March, members of FutureScapes Root Ecology Group, Biplabi Bhattarai and Ivika Ostonen, participated in the ForHot network workshop in Catalonia.
Participation at the conference “Et mets ei läheks metsa”
On March 27, a conference titled “Et mets ei läheks metsa” was held at the Riigikogu, focusing on the biodiversity, management, and future of Estonian forests. Researchers from FutureScapes Ecosystem Management Team, Kadri Runnel and Raul Rosenvald, also presented their views at the event.
Participation at the 43rd Nature Researchers’ Day
On March 20, the 43rd Nature Researchers’ Day was organized by the Estonian Naturalists’ Society, with this year’s central topic being “Nature Restoration and Recovery. Several researchers from FutureScapes also shared their thoughts through presentations and discussions at the event: Aveliina Helm, Triin Reitalu, Eve Veromann, and Raul Rosenvald.
