From September 29 to October 3, members of our Centre of Excellence’s Landscape Geoinformatics working group participated at the Big Data from Space BiDS25 conference in Riga.

At the conference, Evelyn Uuemaa presented a prototype of the data cube developed within the Centre of Excellence. Visitors could also explore the data cube application geokuup.ee and learn about the Centre’s work at the exhibition area.

Anton Kostiukhin, a joint PhD student of the Centre of Excellence and KappaZeta, presented his preliminary results on how Sentinel-1 data can be used to improve forest monitoring accuracy.
Jeonghwan Choi demonstrated at the poster session how to optimize soil organic carbon sampling strategies in fieldwork using machine learning.
