On May 14, the Estonian Ministry of Climate awarded nature conservation badges to outstanding conservationists, and among them were two members of our Centre.

Climate Ministry award

The Nature Conservation Badge was awarded to the head of The Agroecology research group at the Centre and professor at the Estonian University of Life Sciences, Eve Veromann, who contributes to the development of sustainable plant protection through her research, helping to make Estonian agriculture more sustainable.

The Young Nature Conservationist Badge was awarded to our Centre’s communications specialist Katariina Kuusaru, who studied hedgehogs in urban environments and is leading a campaign to make Tartu a better habitat for hedgehogs.

Congratulations!

The Estonian Nature Conservation Badge (also called the Silver Badge) is awarded to individuals with significant contributions to nature protection, and the Young Nature Conservationist Badge is given to youth up to the age of 26 who have shown remarkable efforts in environmental conservation.
