This Christmas, instead of putting up a Christmas tree, FutureScapes set up our new research station.
Members of the Environmental Technology Working Group in the newly installed eddy covariance tower.
Our Environmental Technology Working Group established an eddy covariance tower at our forest study site, enabling research on carbon dioxide and methane cycling in drained peatland forest. In the coming years, we will also start ecosystem-scale experiments at the site to determine the optimal water level for drained peatland forests. The aim is to reduce carbon dioxide losses from the soil while ensuring suitable conditions for tree growth and biodiversity.
